DRY SUMP OIL SYSTEMS FOR FORD "MODULAR" ENGINES
Aviaid, the company that’s been providing lubrication solutions for fast Fords since the days of the fabled Cobra and GT40 (Aviaid was the OEM source), has developed a highly efficient dry sump system for 4.6L and 5.4L “Modular” engines. Through superior scavenging, the Aviaid system helps produce maximum power. Improved flow and pressure eliminates starvation issues under severe acceleration, cornering and braking.
The “heart” of the system is a 3, 4 or 5-stage dry sump pump with the number of scavenge and pressure sections dependant on the
requirements of the application. It comes with an internal pressure regulator, with a remote setup optional. The pump is mounted to the right (passenger) side of the block.
A rear-trough cast aluminum pan is available, which clears Mustang and other front crossmember chassis configurations. It comes with a choice of three dash-10 or dash-12 filter fittings. There are a number of different sized and shape sump tanks available.
The pump is driven via a custom 3-bolt drive mandrel, offered for use with 8-rib OEM or BHJ dampers, or an ATI SuperDamper with the 6-rib shell. A custom water & oil manifold, as well as the Gilmer pump pulley and belt are part of the system. All required braided lines and AN fittings for the application are available from Aviaid.
Aviaid also manufactures a complete line of lubrication systems and components for Ford 289-351 Windsor, 5.0L, 390-427 “FE” wedge and 429-460 wedge engines.
